To Split or not to Split

I have been coveting a splitboard for a couple of years now.  Randomly checking prices on the DIY kit I found out they dropped about $50 in price from last year.  Then I found one actually on sale, so I told myself I'd use some tax money and try it out. If it works, it is cheaper than 2 regular price lift tickets. I watched a bunch of youtube videos on it, how hard could it really be?
Voile Split Decision Kit

First thing to go wrong was the board I've been riding has screw inserts right down the center making it alittle hard to saw through.  Then the bindings I've been using are not 4 hole bindings so they won't work either.  Fortunately I have a couple of other boards I've collected over the years, from the thrift store in town to try.

Line down the center to cut.

Succesfull, I guess? I did have to do quite a bit of sanding to eliminate the gaps the best I could.  I painted the board before hand since it was faded really bad and ugly.

Since I spent the day snowmachining : ) I didn't get all the stuff I needed to finish so I have to wait until ACE opens back up on Monday to continue....
